What is the use of gemstones and crystals in traditional Indian astrology?

Also discover the virtues of healing stones ranked according to their association with each of the 7 chakras: root chakra, sacral chakra, plexus chakra solar, heart chakra, throat chakra, third eye chakra and crown chakra.

Zodiac lucky stones and crystals play an important role in Vedic astrology and the doctrine of yoga when one wishes to unblock and balance the 7 chakras of the human body.

Healing crystals and zodiac lucky birthstones, in addition to their intrinsic virtues, can indeed have an active role in the vibrational harmonization of your subtle energy centers. Thus, the protection stones can also serve as amulets according to your sun sign or your Chinese zodiac sign. As for food, the color of the lucky gemstone or semi-precious stone plays an important role in determining its correspondence with one of the 7 chakras.

How to use healing stones?

In lithotherapy, there are several methods of healing stones use. Before any application, the healing crystals must be purified and recharged for better treatment effectiveness. The main uses of healing stones are:

  • To carry a healing stone, in the form of a jewel (pendant, bracelet, necklace) or simply to carry the healing stone in one's pocket (opt for a rolled stone, with rounded and soft shape),

  • A chakra balancing session during which you are lying for around 15 to 20 minutes in a quiet place (phone in silent mode). Affix on your body the stones associated with the chakras that you wish to work. To determine the chakras you want to balance and open, you can do the 7 chakras test by clicking here,

  • The protection or sanitation of a place against bad energies. In your home or office, position healing crystals at various key points of the place you wish to purify or defend (front door, windows, cardinal points and corners of rooms). Against the evil eye, it is usually the tiger eye, the bull's eye, the black tourmaline, the obsidian rainbow and the black spinel. For purification, you can use an amethyst geode, a pink quartz pebble, clear quartz, orange calcite, malachite associated with azure or a salt lamp.

  • As an elixir, by drinking water in which you have previously soaked the selected healing stone. However, it is best to avoid using this method without the advice of a professional because some stones, if they are harmless in the form of pendant, can become harmful when used as an elixir given their potential low radioactivity.

Please note that the use of medicinal plants, in any form whatsoever, should always be considered after consultation with a doctor, especially for pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as for young children. In the same way, crystals and stones can only be considered as a support for medical treatment and never as a substitution. They are commonly called healing crystals for their action on the chakras, knowing that these have no application in modern medicine.
