How Chinese double hours work

In Chinese astrology and Feng Shui, physical manifestations felt during the day or night hold a secret meaning that can be interpreted (see the detailed table below). Whether it is ringing in the ears, sneezing or nervous blinking of the eyelids, each of these physical manifestations has its own interpretation depending on whether it occurs during one of the 12 Chinese double hours of the lunisolar calendar.

In what order do the Feng Shui double hours take place?

Every 2 hours of the 24 hours of a classic clock, a new Chinese astrological sign replaces the other. Day and night, they are always the same zodiacal animals, always in the same order: from 11 p.m. until 12.59 p.m. the Hour of the Rat, followed by the Hours of the Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and finally the Hour of the Pig (Boar) from 9:00 p.m. to 10:59 p.m.

Meaning of Chinese double hours

Chinese double hours should not be confused with twin or double mirror hours (for example 10:10 or 11:11), whose hidden messages are attributed to guardian angels. In Asia, double hours correspond to the division of the 24 hours of a day into 12 consecutive double hours, each corresponding to the 12 terrestrial branches of Chinese astrology: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Horse, Snake, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.

According to the Chinese horoscope, if you were born in the Hour of the Dragon, your 4th pillar of destiny , that of your birth time, is the Dragon. For comparison, your 1st pillar of destiny corresponds to the Chinese zodiac sign and the element that governs your year of birth.

In Chinese tradition, while the 1st pillar of fate is believed to represent the main character traits and personality of an individual in the course of their social interactions, the 4th pillar of fate, also called the "traveling companion", is your secret personality.
